This Kecak dance depicts the story of Ramayana. Prince Ram and Sita were exiled to forest and Ravan, the ten headed demon kidnapped Sita. Then Hanuman (monkey head deity) went to Ravan's kingdom to save Sita. He burnt the kingdom of Ravan when Ravan's guards caught him and set his tail on fire.
